OnLine Resources

The Medfield Public Library is affiliated with the Minuteman Regional Library System and the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners. These affiliations allow library card holders to access online catalogs, electronic books, and search electronic databases and collections.

• Search the Minuteman Virtual Catalog - Your Medfield Library card allows you to borrow books from any library in the Minuteman system. You will need to get a PIN number from the Library circulation desk. . To search the Minuteman catalog, click here.

• Search and Read Massachusetts Newspapers - Search and read the Boston Globe, Boston Herald, and Worcester Telegram and Gazette from your computer. Click here for more.

• Thomson Gale's Info TRAC Database - The Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners web site provides access to Thomson Gale's Info TRAC database. The database contains over 25 million articles from newspapers and magazines, corporate information, biographical information on 100,000 authors, and more. • Electronic Books - This collection of 7,000 electronic books on the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners web site requires you to create a free account, in addtion to using your library card number, to access the netLibrary collection.

From the Commissioners' web site:

"In netLibrary® you can browse an ebook for 15 minutes or less without creating an account. But in order to check out ebooks on netLibrary, you need to Create a Free Account from the hyperlink in the upper right hand corner of the screen.

Your personal account will give you access to the complete copyrighted and public domain titles available to you as a registered Massachusetts netLibrary user from wherever you choose to login.

Your personal account will also allow you to take advantage of all of the features netLibrary® offers, such as keeping track of ebooks you want to remember, and allowing you to take notes online and add to them at another time.You can also add bookmarks, as well as maintain an online list of your favorite eBooks. An online dictionary allows for quick lookups of unfamiliar words. Once you have an account set up, you can browse and checkout ebooks on netLibrary® simply by going directly to www.netLibrary.com."
