Children's Programs
A brochure listing the current session's programs is available at the Children's Room Desk on the second floor. (Or, click here for a complete listing of current programs.)
We offer weekday drop-in storytimes (no registration required) for children under 2, 2 and 3, and ages 4 and up. There are 4 8-week sessions each year featuring different themes, and we also offer 2 evening PJ storytimes each session.
There are 2 or 3 entertainers including storytellers, musicians, magicians, science and animal shows each session.
Book discussion groups are organized on demand.
Summer Programs
We participate in the Massachusetts state summer reading program every summer which encourages reading by using recording logs and prizes. We offer daily do-it-yourself crafts in our activity room, related to the state theme-of-the-year, as well as our regular storytime schedule.
We make school summer reading lists available, and stock extra copies of these books.
Other Seasonal Programs
We offer holiday crafts for three weeks each December. Girl Scout troops hold story and craft sessions on Saturdays in the winter and spring.
A Special Thank You
We are very grateful for the generosity of the Friends of the Library to the Childrens Room. They fund weekly storytime teachers, craft supplies, special events, summer program materials, audio/visual materials, computers, and decorations for the enjoyment and benefit of the children of Medfield.
